Teaching and Learning Methods

The module will be delivered by means of lectures, seminars and discussion groups. Students will be required to work in groups with use of Email and web-supported discussion groups using a Virtual Learning Environment where appropriate, utilising ICT as required. Students will be expected to present topics within seminars.  Outside speakers may supplement the teaching programme.

The assessments will require students to undertake self time-management, and be able to work in conditions of uncertainty as they will be independent and responsible for their own ideas and solutions to the problems set.  They may be required to transfer their existing skills into new situations and to extrapolate from these skills.  The students are expected to make use of ICT in the research situation eg the Internet and remote databases.

This module will seek to adopt knowledge management approaches in its delivery
