Biography

Dr. Kodogiannis was born in Heraklion, Crete, Greece at 1966. He received the Electrical Eng. Degree from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece in 1990, the MSc in VLSI Systems Engineering from UMIST, UK, in 1991 and the PhD in Electrical Engineering from Liverpool Univ. in 1994. From 1996-1999 he has been with Technical University of Crete and Univ. of Ioannina, Greece as Visiting Assistant Professor. He is currently Reader in the School of Electronics & Computer Science at Univ. of Westminster, London. He is a member of IEEE and the Technical Chamber of Greece.

ABSTRACT: IVP work is focused on the development and evaluation of a miniaturised videoprobe system including a micro-electronic image sensor, wireless data transfer, post-processing and display as well as micro-mechanical components and localisation capabilities. The system will be used in medical diagnosis and therapy. Examples for medical applications are post-operative intracorporeal control after abdominal surgery (general surgery, gynaecology or urology) and diagnosis in gastroenterology (colonoscopy, gastroscopy).
