Panic Attack Research: Comorbid Disorders

Other Psychological Disorders Reported

In addition to panic attacks almost half of the respondents reported the coexistence of General Anxiety (43.1%) or Depression (40.9%) . This was consistent when the sample was split on gender (45% females and 40.3% males with General Anxiety and 42.2% females and 38.9% males with Depression) as shown on the Pie-charts below.

It is important, however, to distinguish between the coexistent disorders that occurred as the result of (or after) a period of suffering from the panic attacks, as opposed to the disorders that existed BEFORE the panic attacks appeared. This analysis is in progress.
