'Screen memories' was my first piece of multi projection work using a variety of surfaces and elements.
It is based around the domestic -the mantelpiece forms the frame for back projection, there is a second projection inside a resin portrait head and the third video is projected onto a hanging curtain.
The multi layered etched glass mirror ‘She slipped like water through my hands’ is my first use of text etched glass.
This installation was produced in response to late discovered adoption and my search for my birth mother.
According to Freud a screen memory is a vivid visual childhood memory that conceals a disturbing event. Often insignificant details mask traumatic meaning.
