Update

As of January 2013, I have moved on to Dialog Semiconductor, Swindon, UK as an Analog IC Design Engineer. The best way to reach me is to drop an email to ucar [at] ieee.org

Short Bio

Alper Ucar is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Westminster where he received a PhD degree in Electronics Engineering for his work on efficient subsampling Delta-Sigma (ΔΣ) data conversion for multi-constellation Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) receivers. He also holds MSc and BSc degrees in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Hacettepe University and Yeditepe University in Turkey, respectively. His research interests include RF/mixed-signal integrated circuit design and digital signal processing for GNSS receivers. He is currently working on the design and implementation of subsampling GNSS receivers and high-speed (>1GHz) ΔΣ data converters in CMOS technologies.

Ongoing Projects

  • iNsight: Innovative Navigation using new GNSS SIGnals with Hybridised Technologies, In collabration with Imperial College, University College London, and University of Nottigham
  • Design and Implementation of High-Speed, Jitter Insensitive Continuous-Time Delta Sigma A/D Converters in 90 and 180nm CMOS

Completed Projects

  • GNSScope: A Toolbox for End-to-End Modelling, Simulation and Analysis of GNSS, (2008-2010)
  • VLSI Implementation of Fuzzy Neural Networks for Turkish Phoneme Classification, In collaboration with Bristol University, (2005-2007)
